The Influence of Soaking Guave (Psidium Guajava) Leaves Extract and Storage Temperature on the Physical Quality of Eggs

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of soaking the leaves of guava leaf extract (psidium guajava) and storage temperatures at different room temperature and chilling temperature in storage on the quality of Ras chicken eggs as seen from the yolk index, egg white index, egg weight loss and Haugh units. The material of this research is 36 eggs which are stored for 7 days at room temperature (27-32°C) and chilling temperature (4-7°C). The research method used a laboratory analysis with a completely randomized design of soaking broiler eggs stored at room temperature with 4 treatments and 3 replications at different temperatures with a concentration of P0 0% P1 15% P2 35% P3 45%. Observations of each treatment are carried out on 24 eggs stored at room temperature and 12 eggs at chilling temperature. Data analysis uses analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if there is a significant difference, then further testing is carried out using Duncan's test level (0.05). The results show that the concentration and difference in storage temperature at room temperature and chilling temperature of broiler chickens have a very significant effect [Fcount > Ftable (0.01)] on egg yolk index and egg weight shrinkage, but there is no effect [Fcount > Ftable ( 0.05)] on the egg white index and the Haugh unit value.
